Terms and conditions

1. The kitchen and chalets at Elands River Lodge are designed with comfort in mind for the guests. 2. The only things you will need to bring with are, own food, drinking water, ice, alcoholic beverages and snacks. We also suggest to bring your own bath and swimming towels as well extra warm blankets for cold evenings. 3. Cleaners wash the dishes in the morning as well clean the braai area. Chalets will not be cleaned if occupied 4. Marbel hall is the closest town (+- 20km) where groceries can be bought 5. Pet-friendly only if prior arranged with the owner 6. Use electricity sparingly 7. You are not allowed to feed, tease or touch any of the predators 8. No open fires are allowed. Only in allocated areas 9. We do provide enough fire wood for braai purposes. Additional wood is available at R100 for 50kg bundle 10. Speed limit in the farm is 10m/h. No hunting from any vehicle is allowed 11. Minimum off 2 nights stay is required/ Minimum 4 people 12. No refunds on any upfront bookings, accommodation or hunting 13. Payment must be paid upfront-no card facilities available 14. All prices quoted are subject to change 15. Should you cancel a booking, you will forfeit 50% paid for accommodation, as well as once off booking fee. No refunds of lay-buys will be excepted under no circumstances 16. If a animal with a ear tag is hunted and shot, game auction prices will be charged. Should any other animal be hunted and shot that was not on the list, the owner will determine the price that wold need to be paid for that animal 17. We take the hunters out, a guide will accommodate you, no persons are allowed in the field without a guide or authorised personal. 18. No night hunting is permitted or allowed. 19. If a guide points out an animal that are ready to be hunted, it is up to you and your discretion to decide whether this animal is ready and suited according to your specifications to be hunted. Determining of the gender, specie and size are the hunter’s responsibility, no discount will be granted if an animal is too small or if the wrong animal was hunted. 20. It is your responsibility to make sure that your gun is properly aligned and ready, as soon as an animal have been wounded you will pay the full price for the animal 21. Guides, helpers and management will do everything in their power to locate the wounded animal however, the hunter who wounded the animal will not be allowed to hunt any further until the animal have been found. 22. Under no circumstances do we allowed any bribery of helpers regarding a wounded animal, the guide/helper will also not accept any money from the hunter in this matter. 23. It is your responsibility to make the necessary arrangements if the animal was hunted for trophy purposes as well what part of the intestines you want. 24. A veterinarian permits is needed for the transport of warthog carcasses. It is the hunters responsibility to obtain this permit beforehand as this permit will not be issued by the farmer 25. No persons under the influence of alcohol will be allowed in the hunting field. No alcohol is allowed during hunting sessions or in hunting vehicles. If the owner decides that a person under the influence poses as a threat to others he will be asked to leave the farm. 26. It is your responsibility to slaughter and cultivate the animal. We will provide assistance and help at an additional charge of R300 per big buck/R150 for small buck and an extra R50 per buck for trophy slaughter purposes. We provide the cold storage facilities for carcasses until you departure. Slaughter of giraffe R1000 per giraffe. 27. No smoking is allowed in the field or in the vehicles. Hunters must be aware that the field is dry and therefore would easily catch. 28. No dumping of any garbage in the hunting area – please keep the farm clean! 29. The person who made the booking are seen as the responsible person for the group i.e. person liable 30. No alcohol is allowed to be given to any guides/workers. 31. If you aim at one animal but more than one gets hit, you will be charged for it as well 32. You are not allowed to shoot over the guides shoulder 33. Do not shoot in the direction of the camp. Buildings or roads. 300m around the camp is a no- hunting zone. 34. Should any animals be kept in the trophy camp, they will not be allowed to be hunted except otherwise discussed and arranged with the owner as the prices for these animals are much higher than on the price list as they are trophy hunts. 35. Should a hunter be guilty of disobeying the hunting rules, unethical behaviour, inappropriate behaviour or dangerous firearm handling the owner of the farm will ask the guest to leave the farm immediately. 36. If you have pre-booked a specific animal and that animal is no longer available to be hunted due to unforeseen circumstances, the deposit will be refunded or another animal can be targeted/ hunted. 37. Please take note that an additional fee or R300 per day will be charged for the use of the cold storage facility should the carcass be left behind after departure and before you can fetch it (maximum 3 days) 38. Strictly only weapons that are legally in your possession are allowed to be used for hunting purposes only 39. Calibre small than .270 is not allowed, neither is the hunting/ shooting of rabbits and birds/pigeons. 40. Any tips either for workers, guides or cleaners must be handed to management in order to ensure it is equally divided between the workers 41. Any game hunted will only be realised upon full payment of any outstanding fees. 42. Please use water and electricity sparingly and switch off unnecessary lights. 43. Do not feed any of the animals on the farm, do not throw meat to get them to fight with each other, a R5000 fine will be issued immediately. 44. Please obey all warning signs at all times
